I have seen many challenge series this January, where people consistently drop different design concepts every day, the writing series, the content creation series, name it. Some even went as far as to build consistent workplace habits like my friend who mentioned her New Year resolution is to not carry over work to the next day, and I understand how exhausting that would be.
It made me think about You.
The way time works is funny. All week, You are consistently delivering. You are giving hours to work, ignoring social invites, and failing to relax your body and soul because you want to deliver consistently. You are punching keyboard keys and scheduling emails, failing to schedule time out for your mental health. Every day by 5 pm, you tell yourself you will do better, only to repeat the circle the next day.
I am not saying you should organize a party - or go to the club. It's also okay if you don’t want to go to a bar or the cinema. If you are scared of the beach or don't have time for an ice cream date, that’s okay, too. But you must be intentional about adding fun and relaxation to your life.
You sef don try na.
Take breaks, you can pick up from where you stopped. Continuity is also effective too, Trust me. Retire from your laptop this weekend. Message an old friend, binge Netflix, and consume a little more sugar (or wine). Go out if you have the means to, or stay home if you want to. But you must unplug in Jesus name.
Byeeee👋🏻.
